Patrols

All participants categorized as "Scout" must be assigned to patrols in the group registration. There is a dedicated page for this in the group registration:

On this page, you can choose whether to import a pre-made patrol setup or create patrols manually in the registration. As an international group you do not have any patrols in the system from before so you need to create the patrols!

Create Patrols

To create a patrol in the group registration, enter the patrol name in the field under "Create new activity patrol" and click "Create".Image Placeholder

You can create all patrols at once or edit and complete them one by one. This guide will continue with an example patrol, "Example Patrol".Image Placeholder

Edit a Patrol

Once the patrols are in place, you as the registration responsible can manage a selected patrol by clicking "More details" next to the patrol name.

You will then be taken to a page for the selected patrol where you can:

  • Edit the patrol name
  • Choose whether patrol members are displayed as a list or cards
  • Search for members in the patrol
  • Edit the patrol member list (add and remove members)
  • Register activity choices for the patrol
  • Answer patrol-related questions
  • Assign roles (Patrol Leader, Assistant Patrol Leader, Home Leader)Image Placeholder

The image above only shows part of the page. In the registration system, you can scroll down to see all the details you can edit in the selected patrol.

To return to the patrol overview, click "CLOSE" in the top right corner of the page.

Patrol Editing Features

Edit the Patrol Name

You can change the patrol name by clicking the edit button, entering the new name, and saving.

Add and Remove Patrol Members

Click "+ Edit" under "Patrol Members".

You will then be taken to a page where you can see:

  • Members in the patrol
  • Members without patrols
  • Members in other patrols

To return to the previous page (the start page for the selected patrol), click "CLOSE".

In the example above, the "Example Patrol" has no members yet. There is one member without a patrol, and there are no members in other patrols.

To add a member to the patrol, click "Register" on the relevant members under "Members without patrols".

The member will briefly blink and then be added under "Members in the Patrol."

Repeat this process for all members that need to be added.

Important: For members to appear in these lists, they must first be registered in the group registration under "ENROLL AND RESIGN"

To return to the patrol editing section, click "CLOSE".Image Placeholder

Register Activity Preferences for the Patrol

There are two types of patrols in the group:

  • Scout Patrols
  • Rover Teams

The type of patrol is selected under "Patrol Questions", which is described below.

This is important when selecting activities, as there are two types of hikes available:

  • Patrol Hike (for Scout Patrols)
  • Rover Hike (for Rover Teams)

Scout Patrols should select Patrol Hike and not answer the Rover Hike question.
Rover Teams should select Rover Hike and not answer the Patrol Hike question.

Click "Edit" under "Patrol Hike at Speidernes Landsleir 2025".

You will then be taken to the page where you can prioritize hike options for the patrol.

Here, you can choose three priority options from the dropdown menu. The order you select determines the priority. Click X to remove a selection.

To learn more about difficulty levels, click on the activity name. This will open a separate view. Click "CLOSE" to return to the priority selections.

When you are done prioritizing hikes and ready to continue editing the patrol, click "CLOSE".

Patrol Questions

All patrols must answer a questionnaire. Click the edit button to open the questionnaire for the selected patrol.

  1. Select whether this is a Scout Patrol or a Rover Team.
  2. If the patrol has chosen a special hike as one of its priority options, they must also prioritize which special hike they want. This is done in the Patrol Questions form.

Remember to save!

When the patrol questionnaire is complete, click "CLOSE" to return to patrol editing.

Roles and Responsibilities

Click "ADD" to assign the following roles:

  • Patrol Leader
  • Patrol Assistant
  • Home Leader

A list will appear where you can select who will be assigned the role.

  • Patrol Leader and Assistant Patrol Leader can only be selected from members within the patrol.
  • Home Leader can be selected from all members registered in the group registration.

Important:
The Home Leader for the patrol must be a leader participating in the camp with the group. This is not the same as the group's official Home Leader (who does not attend the camp but is responsible for coordination at home).

Click "Select" to assign the role. You will then return to the patrol overview, where the assigned member will now have their role displayed.

Finalizing Patrols

Now you have added everything necessary for a patrol!

To return to the patrol overview, close the current patrol by clicking "CLOSE".

Repeat this process for the remaining patrols.
